
President Anura Kumara Dissanayake says that a National Tariff Policy and a brand-new Customs Act will be introduced targeted at the advancement of Sri Lankas Export Industry.Delivering the Budget Speech 2025 in Parliament, President Dissanayake stated that the federal government will develop a national export advancement prepare for the period 2025 2029 in order to improve Sri Lankas products and services exports capacity in a large-scale.
Further, he included that a basic, transparent and a foreseeable tariff structure will be formed based on a National Tariff Policy in order to eliminate the restrictions for the exporters to reach the required top quality basic materials at bearable cost.The Head of the State likewise highlighted that Sri Lanka expects to generate export income of USD 19 billion this year.Speaking further, the President stated that the government will introduce a brand-new Customs Act for increasing the efficiency of trade centers and revenue collection activities changing the existing Customs Act.
He noted that the legislation activities are already underway.
